Project Harmony Israel serves Israeli and Palestinian youth from Muslim, Jewish, and Christian backgrounds. We tailor our activities to provide an inclusive, integrative, developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive environment for positive youth development. We actively seek to overcome the legacies of injustice and conflict in Jerusalem by providing an engaging, positive, sensitive, and intentionally integrated environment for local youth. We work closely with the Hand in Hand school-based staffed and local bilingual high-school students throughout the summer. Our English immersion program provides critical language development to our campers. We believe that our camp environment is strengthened by diversity of staff and of campers, and we welcome you to apply to join us!

Staff training includes intensive training in:
  • conflict resolution
  • dialogue facilitation
  • teaching English as a second language
  • positive youth development
  • critical education pedagogy
  • review of the local geo-political, social, and cultural contexts of Jerusalem
  • anti-racist and anti-bias training
  • youth program planning
  • and provides connections to a network of peace-builders in Jerusalem and around the world
Camp provides:
  • a supportive integrated, experiential learning environment to Arab and Jewish youth from the wider Jerusalem community to experience the Hand in Hand educational framework
  • continued opportunity for Hand in Hand students to engage with one another through summer activity, team-building activity, and enrichment programming
  • English language development and exposure to international cultures to all youth
  •  a wonderful opportunity for international young adults to contribute to Hand in Hand’s mission in building shared society through integration and equality in a tangible way, and to gain experience in conflict resolution, social justice, and cross-cultural education.
